Engraving and laser cutting

The machines lasers are a very versatile tool that allow you to carry out a large number of products focused on the decorations, crafts, ornaments, packaging... Also to work with different types of materials such as wood, felt, cardboard, leather, fabric, foam, eva rubber, anodised aluminium, slate, etc., as Well as the cutting of different materials.

Marking

Marked surface with a laser for precision health.

Engraving

Permanent mark, and accurate.

Court

Cut materials with a CO2 laser.

Marking

It means to mark or label parts and materials with a laser beam. The dial is when it is depicted as a figure with very little depth.
It is commonly used to process the items in the metal where the surface of the workpiece must remain intact. Often, items such as surgical implants, surgical instruments or precision bearings require this type of marking. With the brand of the laser, the laser heat redistributes really the coal in the material to create a black mark of the jet with the interruption of surface in the level of the micron only. If done correctly, will not rust nor will rust even in the tests, sprinkled with salt or in an autoclave. Some plastics such as ABS and Delrin also allow for a nice contrast when they are processed with a laser 064nm. If we process the same material with a CO2 laser you will get an engraving marking without contrast. This is all a matter of wavelength and how it reacts to the material or pigment in the material.

Engraving

This is the more common term, and simply defined, it means that in the process of creation of the brand, the material is to be removed or vaporized during the process. An example in our business is plastic engraving CO2 laser for signaling. This is often a plastic two-layer with a colour called the "cap" laminated to a contrast color is called the "kernel". The etching process removes the lid and exposes the core to create a sign that has an attractive appearance. There are also engraved in the metal processing. Typically used to ensure the permanence, the material is removed to create depth. This is usually a process reserved for 1, 064nm lasers of the wavelength (nd: YAG, for example) as these types of lasers paired well with the metals. When recording metals in this way, the laser is breaking the machined surface of the object, so that the oxidation or rust may occur as a result. This would be a question at the time of the test of feasibility. "do you want depth?" If so, do you realize that the base material could be oxidized? Depending on the response, the next option could be the laser marking.

Court

This is sometimes confused with the laser engraving but really means cutting a whole piece or cut shapes directly through the material. Most of the laser cutting is performed with lasers of CO2 as once again interact with the material rather than the pigment within the material. We work a lot with acrylics that can be used for signage, exhibits, retail, and many other applications. While short, special care is taken for the cuts smooth and what is "polished edges called". There are times where the high-powered, pulse YAGs is used for cutting metal but even with these materials, CO2 high power seems to do the best work.
